Giving Grace

Things are crazy right now. Can I get an Amen?

Remember when the pandemic started and everyone was very supportive of one another? Fast forward to today and we’re all wearing thin.

We are stretched. We are tired. We are weary. We are impatient. We are bombarded by news reports, conspiracy theories, and decisions which are anything but straightforward.

That’s why we need to GIVE GRACE to one other.

I’m a pastor. I can’t remember a more difficult time to be in ministry. I’ve heard the same thing from pastors who’ve been doing this for decades. This also a difficult season as a parent.

What about YOU? Think about your work or school, or about your family situation, or about your general state of mental well-being or stress. My guess is that all of us are experiencing our own version of the COVID-19 nightmare.

In Colossians 3:12-14, Paul writes: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

We all NEED grace. And we could all stand to GIVE some grace too.
