Get secure

Lee Strobel was on a sailing adventure with some friends in the British Virgin Islands.*

Since he was a novice he really enjoyed learning how things were done, and the importance of things being done right.

One example is when they would drop the anchor. They would go into a calm cove and let it down. So important was this task that a diver went down to ensure it was secure.

If it wasn’t, the boat could drift overnight and take them way off course. If the boat drifted in the other direction toward land, they could get dashed against the rocks!

Speaking about Jesus, Hebrews 6:19 says: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

These days are uncertain days. Who knows what the future will hold? If your anchor is not secure, you could drift and get blown off course—or, even worse, you could get dashed against the rocks in the storms of life.

If you are not secure in Jesus you are not secure.

What do you need to do to make your soul firm and secure?

Do you need to renew a commitment? Make a prayer closet? Get back to church every Sunday? Re-connect with a godly and trustworthy friend? Spend a day fasting and praying through some psalms?

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

If you are not secure in Jesus you are not secure.
