God needs to be first in our lives.
Agreed.
When we appreciate who God is and what he has done for us, we want to show that appreciation in meaningful and often sacrificial ways.
When someone is a follower of Christ and realizes they’re not doing that, they tend to prayerfully think things through and make some adjustments.
But some people—perhaps including yourself—are already doing something for God which has really stretched you. Maybe you’re caring for a sick loved one; maybe you’ve opened your home to someone while they get back on their feet; maybe you’ve started an outreach which takes a tonne of your time and energy (and money); maybe you’ve adopted children; or maybe you’ve changed your line of work (will less pay).
If that’s you, why not dedicate what you’re already doing to Jesus?
Perhaps you’re feeling worn out. Perhaps you forget why you started your task in the first place. Perhaps you need motivation and a reminder about what—and who—it’s all about.
Are you doing something for God and are feeling stretched? Re-dedicate it to Jesus.
Proverbs 16:3 says: “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
He will also refresh your heart.
