Listen to Paul’s powerful prayer in Ephesians 3:16-17: “I pray that out of [God’s] glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.”
When you decide to be a Christian — that is, when you acknowledge your brokenness and sin before God, ask for his forgiveness, trust what Jesus did for you on the cross, and make him the Lord and boss of your life — God himself in the person of the Holy Spirit begins to dwell and live inside of you in a new way.
I think we can sometimes neglect or undervalue that life-changing fact!
If you played hockey and your team had the chance to enlist Wayne Gretzky in his prime, would you do it? If you could go back in time and hear a speech and have a personal conversation with Martin Luther King Jr, would you do it? Of course!
If you had access to the greatest power on earth, don’t you think you’d jump at the opportunity? If you’re a Christian, you do, and you can.
May prayer for you is Paul’s prayer to the Ephesians: “I pray that out of God’s glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
Ask the Holy Spirit to use you in powerful ways, and be open to his guidance.
