In the face of God

In our society the spotlight is shining brightly on the problem of racial injustice. There is certainly racial discrimination in our world, and that should change.

In Matthew 6:10 Jesus teaches us to pray for God’s will and kingdom to come “on earth as it is in heaven.” So doesn’t it make sense for us to know a little more about the heaven we want God to bring to earth?

Revelation 5 gives us a glimpse into heaven. Angels and people are praising Jesus saying, “with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation” (verse 9).

Let that sink in for a moment.

In heaven there is mind-blowing worship which includes those who have been purchased by Jesus from every tribe and language and people and nation. What racial diversity! It’s a scene of the people God made “in his own image” (Genesis 1:27), praising the One who gave them life, liberty and eternity.

Sounds like a pretty amazing vision for heaven-on-earth, don’t you think?

There is every race in the face of God.
