Do you ever feel like God may have had a plan for your life at some point in the past, but since you keep messing up he’s probably moved on to someone else to help him accomplish his purposes?
If that’s you, think bigger. You should broaden your understanding of God’s…
Providence.
In short, providence is God’s good, guiding hand in your life and in the world. His almighty hand; his wise hand; his caring hand.
Here’s the thing. God is able to accomplish his purposes in spite of your missteps and mistakes. He is simply unable to fail. And he certainly isn’t thrown off course when one of his millions of children through human history—you—have had some less than stellar days.
His good, guiding hand continues to work through broken people like you and me every single day. In us. Around us. And in spite of us.
Have more confidence in God’s good providence than your poor performance.
Pick yourself up. Dust yourself off. Think big. Move forward.
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps” (Proverbs 16:9).
