Yield to Jesus when you are fearful or anxious about the future

Never in my life have I talked to more people about the uncertainty of the future.

If I were alive during World War Two or the upstart of the Cold War, perhaps I would not be able to say that. But fears and anxieties about the future are now common. Is it even possible to watch the news without having a panic attack?

But guess what? God is in control. He’s not surprised by anything that is happening.

-“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
-“The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it…” (Psalm 24:1).
-“Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress” (Psalm 46:6-7).
-“The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all” (Psalm 103:19).
-“in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

What I’ve noticed is that when big scary things happen we often ask, ‘Where is God?!’ Then after the fact we see how God has been with us and has been doing something big all along.

Yield with big trust to the sovereign power of Jesus when you are fearful or anxious about the future.

The one who knows the future, and the one who rules over the future, is leading you forward while holding your hand.
