Getting unstuck

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck? Like what you’re doing on a day-to-day basis isn’t getting you closer to your goals?

If so, you’re not alone. But don’t fear. There’s hope!

Consider Moses. After he led the Hebrews out of slavery in Egypt he found himself stuck. He was serving as a leader and judge to the people and was spending every waking hour settling disputes.

So his father-in-law Jethro gave him some advice. “What you are doing is not good,” he said. (Sometimes it takes family to tell you like it is!) Jethro went on to tell him to appoint more judges and spread out the workload. That way they would only have to bring the difficult cases to Moses. “That will make your load lighter,” he said. (Exodus 18:17, 22 NIV)

Moses modified his methods to better accomplish his mission.

Now here’s how this applies to you: Sometimes you need to modify your methods to better accomplish your mission.

Maybe you want to nurture close family relationships, but what you’re doing isn’t bearing fruit. If so, you probably need to modify your methods.

Maybe you want more financial balance, but what you’re doing isn’t working. If so, you probably need to modify your methods.

Maybe you want to make a better impact at work, but what you’re doing isn’t working. If so, you probably need to modify your methods.

What is it for you? What’s your goal? If you’re not getting traction, maybe you need a different pair of shoes. Even Moses had to adapt.

Sometimes you need to modify your methods to better accomplish your mission.
